The Mother Hen blog is 1!

A year ago while I was busy growing Hugo in my tummy, running around after Finley and in between school runs I started my blog. My little space on the Internet to share my thoughts and honest updates on my journey through parenthood, life experiences and lessons.

My reason for starting my blog was simple. I love writing down my thoughts and feelings and I hoped it would help give comfort to someone who was reading it. I’ve been there, I’ve felt lonely especially in this crazy journey of parenthood and I want to reassure people that they are not alone. I also thought it would be a great way to document moments while raising the boys to look back on one day when they are grown men that have flown the nest.

My blog has turned those lonely times around, to have that safe place to write everything down brings comfort, it’s like writing to a friend. With that I have met such lovely people through blogging. I didn’t think anyone would be interested in my blog but when I receive messages from you lovely people about how (especially) my more personal posts have helped. It honestly makes my heart feel so full. To know that someone has found comfort and understanding through something I’ve said.. I can’t even explain how happy that makes me.

I’m extremely proud of my blog. In one year I have gained regular readers, attended blogging events, gave it a slick make over, it’s still growing and changing, which excites me!

In the early days I was writing posts during Hugo’s 3am feed. Now I’m usually writing them on the go, on my phone while chasing a toddler and a baby in my arms. My posts are unscheduled, I don’t have a theme, my pictures are not editorial- they are taken on my phone on the go. It’s a bit chaotic and a bit messy but that is exactly what my life if like right now raising three boys 😂

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone for your support, for reading my ramblings and for taking the time send me emails and massages. You guys are truly amazing!
